Vital Agency: Celebrating Thirty Years in Business

In 1996, there were no iPhones, Google or Facebook. The Spice Girls were on the rise, and Skinner & Baddiel released ‘Three Lions’. That same year, a small digital company launched in Yorkshire, offering website design and internet services. Thirty years later, award-winning Vital Agency now provides web design, eCommerce development, SEO/PPC, branding and digital marketing services to clients nationwide.

Based in York since 2022, Andy Topps Vital Agency Managing Director, attributes their success to a commitment to delivering great digital work and building lasting relationships with clients.  Current work includes brand guidelines development for Piglets Adventure Farm, a key visitor attraction on the outskirts of York, a design report for LifeSearch, a leading life insurance and financial protection company, and, of course, a new website for Vital Agency which launched this year.  

Vital Agency have also been working with Bolton Castle, a privately owned visitor attraction located in North Yorkshire providing a new bespoke WordPress website development supported with digital marketing, including social media.  Says Andy: "Working to improve the digital output of a 14th century castle is a true juxtaposition but embracing this unique property in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales was a pleasure.  Starting with initial design ideas but always bearing in mind what the visitor needs to see and how easily they can make bookings involved many conversations. Implementing a bespoke WordPress platform with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for flexibility and ease-of-use whilst also maintaining heightened website security, resulted in a highly adjustable solution for the client. Early indications are superb with online bookings across the full range of ticket options for the castle. Enhanced SEO & GEO are in place and already picking up traction soon after launch."

Vital Agency was Winner of Prolific North Awards 'Web Development Project of the Year’ for Short Lifts, a lifts company with a national remit, and produced an award-winning WordPress brochure site with integrated Magento v2 eCommerce + Hyvä solution. Vital Agency has also worked with Pelsis, an industry leading provider of pest control products, building a bespoke Magento eCommerce with SAP B1 integration.

Vital Agency is currently delivering projects for several London-based clients while seeking to build stronger relationships with businesses in York. By creating opportunities for local developers and creatives and helping clients navigate AI and the rapidly evolving digital landscape, the agency looks ahead to the next decade with confidence and enthusiasm.
