Racing Gold at Otley Cycle Race
Friday, 28th June 2013

Award winning WharfeBank Brewery has been invited to join Box Tree Events to provide VIP Hospitality at the DM Keith Skoda Otley Cycle Race on July 3rd.
To mark the occasion, the Otley based brewery has created Othelia Gold, a 4.5 % ABV, pale to golden premium ale, brewed with American Hops.
Martin Kellaway, managing director of WharfeBank Brewery comments:-
“It seemed fitting to create a premium ale that recognised the town, Othelia is the name given to Otley in the Domesday Book of 1066 and it had to be ‘Gold’ to reflect the best of the race.”
The ale will be enjoyed by 150 VIP guests attending the event, with hospitality provided by Rena and Simon Gueller, who own and manage Box Tree Events. A mouth-watering selection of lite bites has been created with locally sourced produce to be enjoyed as the cyclists battle the streets of Otley.
Martin continues:
“We also wanted to ensure that ‘Othelia Gold’ could be enjoyed by spectators across Otley and therefore the premium ale will also be available on the bars of Otley pubs, The Old Cock, and the newly refurbished and renamed Otley Tavern.
