PRESS RELEASE                                                                                            October 31st 2016

The Christmas Adventure at Yorkshire’s Stockeld Park

Enjoy a festive day out at Yorkshire’s award winning ‘Christmas Adventure’.  Now in its tenth year, the stunning Stockeld Park Estate is bringing its expertise to the fore, to deliver a large helping of Christmas cheer, at its renowned festival in the run up to and during the Christmas season.

Nestled in one of the country’s most ancient woodlands, the Christmas Adventure opens daily at 10.30 am from Tuesday 1st November until Tuesday 3 January 2017. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a relaxed stroll through a beautifully illuminated Enchanted Forest and for those with little ones a visit to see Santa and his elves, in the award winning Grotto, is not to be missed.

In the run up to the big day, Stockeld Park also hosts two special event themed weekends for families to help capture the anticipation and excitement.  Visitors are invited to watch the ‘Santa Arrival and Reindeer Sleigh Parade’ on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November and a unique ‘Magnificent Three Kings and their Camels Parade’ on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November.

Stockeld Park is also celebrated for its exciting outdoor activities where visitors can enjoy the fresh air on the real outdoor ice rink.  The interactive playgrounds in the Enchanted Forest provide the perfect backdrop for imaginative play during the day but as dusk falls families re-trace their steps to wonder at the beautifully illuminated ancient woodland. Or the energetic can try the Nordic Ski trail through the woods instead of taking the path.  Don’t forget to get lost inside the Giant Snow Flake shaped Yew Maze – where the race to the centre is as fun as finding the exit.

Following a full day of activities why not enjoy choosing a Christmas Tree to take home. The Stockeld Park Estate is home to the Christmas Adventure but it is also grows more than half a million hand pruned Christmas trees.  There is also a large Christmas gift shop filled with amazing present ideas for all the family, a wide selection of tree decorations and an illuminated light store to create the perfect Christmas experience.

After all the excitement, relax in the licensed Woodland Café, serving home-made, locally sourced food and warming drinks.
